36th Street / Billy Mitchell Boulevard intersection improvements

Completed — December 2025

Intersection reconstruction, signal upgrades, improved turning lanes and enhanced pedestrian crossings have reduced congestion and improved safety at this key campus intersection.

Three projects ahead this season

01

Billy Mitchell Boulevard improvements

Comprehensive roadway improvements including pavement rehabilitation, drainage enhancements, utility upgrades and improved lighting along the main campus corridor. Work will be phased to minimize disruption to traffic flow.

General Hudnell Drive reconstruction

Full roadway reconstruction including new base and surface, curb and gutter improvements, and enhanced stormwater management, supporting the growing industrial and logistics operations in the southern campus area.

General McMullen Drive improvements

Pavement overlay, striping improvements and safety enhancements that improve access to aerospace facilities and support increased truck traffic to industrial tenants.

Billy Mitchell Boulevard
Anticipated start March 2026 · 4–6 months · Expect lane closures and reduced speeds in work zones; alternate routes will be marked.
General Hudnell Drive
Anticipated start April 2026 · 3–4 months · Sections may close to through traffic; detour routes will be provided.
General McMullen Drive
Anticipated start May 2026 · 2–3 months · Work will occur primarily during off-peak hours; minor delays expected during daytime operations.

Access to all tenant facilities will be maintained throughout construction.
